It was on the night of 30-Jan-98, when no creatures were stirring, and all was
silent. Suddenly, Jens jumped out from behind a rock and wouldnt stop shouting
about "Re: Apollo 060" until I was forced to knock them out:
-> I've done some experiments, and it appears that the loop gets unstable
-> when it's runing VERY fast. So the crashes is seen more often if AMOS
-> is running from a clean WB (No Opus or other things running). As soon
-> as something else is running the chance of crash drops..
Its not only the 060 which has this problem, its often occured on my machine
(blizzard 1220, 28MhZ FPU) with the Foundation Mailinglist. At night, i'll
reset my machine and run Miami + Foundationlist and if I get up in the middle
of the night its usually frozen about 5 hours later. One way I got around
this, was to limit the no. of cycles used in a loop to an absolute minimum,
and thus ive had (at the most whilst in england) 39 hours out of the list
program, and reset the machine remotely whilst it was still running.
Instead of using Do...LOOP commands, try something else, like Repeat...Until,
or While...Wend even. Just experiment with different measures and see the
results.
